Smart reminders for your Tesla

How beta testing works

Privacy

GO EV GO is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect the minimum data necessary to deliver smart charge reminders and nothing more.

How Signing In Works

When you sign in, the app opens Tesla's official web page window where you enter your Tesla password. Your password goes directly to Tesla. GO EV GO never captures, reads, or stores it. In return, Tesla gives the app a limited authorisation (an access token, not your password) that can only read data and can never control your vehicle. You can revoke this access at any time from the Tesla app or your Tesla account. See Tesla's guide on managing access with third-party apps.

What We Collect

What We Do NOT Collect

Zero Vampire Drain

GO EV GO never wakes your vehicle. All vehicle data is received passively through Tesla Fleet Telemetry, a push-based system. Your vehicle's battery is never affected by this app.

Read-Only Access

GO EV GO only receives data from your vehicle. We cannot send any commands to it. We cannot lock or unlock it, start or stop charging, change charge limits, or control any vehicle function. Our Tesla authorisation is limited to reading charge and telemetry data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third party. Your data is used exclusively for the services delivered by this app.

Data Retention

If you delete your account, your push notification tokens and active sessions are removed immediately, and your account is signed out and inert. If no other GO EV GO user is also linked to the same vehicle, we then ask Tesla to disconnect the data link from your vehicle. Once Tesla confirms this, all of your personal data is permanently deleted, including encrypted Tesla tokens, vehicle identifiers, telemetry, and reminders.

We keep only a minimal, non-identifying record that the account was deleted: the dates the deletion was requested and completed, and a scrambled version (a one-way, irreversible hash) of your Tesla account ID. We keep this so that, for audit purposes, we can confirm a specific account was deleted (and let you know your previous account was removed if you ever sign in again). We also keep anonymous statistics about reminders that were sent, along with daily tallies of how much data flowed for each vehicle: how many telemetry data points we received from it, and how many requests we made to Tesla about it. Tesla bills us per vehicle for the data connection, so we keep these tallies after deletion to monitor and reconcile those charges, and to improve how we manage this data. They are counts only: they contain none of the telemetry itself (no battery level, charge state, location, or other vehicle data), and each vehicle appears only as the scrambled (one-way hash) version of its VIN. Apart from support correspondence, described below, none of this retained information includes your name, email, readable vehicle identifier (VIN), location, telemetry content, or any other personal data.

Support chats and other correspondence are not deleted with your account. We mark in-app chat conversations as belonging to a deleted account, and once your account has been removed we can no longer connect the conversation to your vehicle or account data. The messages themselves stay in our support records, including anything you wrote and any images you sent, as does any email you sent us. If you would like your support correspondence removed as well, just ask us at hello@goevgo.app.
